Rave Reviews from LAST WORD in the Virginia Gazette!

Bravo!

“The Simon & Garfunkel Tribute show at the Kimball on Saturday was amazing! Thanks so much to City Arts Cafe and Robin Jester for pulling this together. I enjoyed listening to all the old tunes. It brought back many memories of my parents and I on long road trips across the United States.”

“I was blown away by the Simon & Garfunkel Tribute show, benefiting Williamsburg Youth Orchestra and Williamsburg Youth Wind Ensemble. I know there are an incredible number of talented musicians in greater Williamsburg and am excited that Jester had the energy, vision and talent to connect all of the participants for this outstanding show.”

“What a superb group of the best local musicians around we saw perform some of Simon & Garfunkel’s best in tribute for their 70th birthdays. It was lively and fun and put together as professionally as I have seen a local group do. I am in my 60s, and it was a blast.”

Photo Shoots! Concerts! News! Oh MY!!!

Robin and the J Birds have enjoyed a couple of INCREDIBLE weeks. As musicians, it is always SO gratifying to know that people are listening and we are putting smiles on your faces! We have been busy with great events like the well received Simon & Garfunkel Birthday Tribute Concert at the Kimball Theatre!!! We played our favorites, "Keep the Customer Satisfied," "Kodachrome," and "America" to a near SOLD OUT audience!!!  We also had the honor of performing with Chris Krehbiel & Joe B. Jones on "Still Crazy After All These Years" as well as the iconic "Bridge Over Troubled Water" with Stephen Christoff, closing out the night on "The Boxer" with Dick Smith, Cabot Wade, and John Tracy, sharing the stage with other great locals Poisoned Dwarf, Scott Varney, Joe Duggan and Philip Newbery of WMBG 740AM. Read all about it and see photos on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/robinandthejbirds!

Celtic Airs CD Release with Timothy Seaman

Picture
I had the extreme honor and pleasure of being invited to record on Tim Seaman's latest project, Celtic Airs. Since Celtic music is probably my favorite, if I was only allowed to pick just one (well Celtic is more than one) I eagerly agreed! My piano arrangements are featured on two pieces on the album, both Welsh actually, Guide me oh Thou great Jehovah (tune called Cwm Rhondda) and Jesus Lover of my soul (tune called Aberystwyth). Visit TimothySeaman.com or CLICK HERE to order your copy today!

I recently also had the opportunity to share the stage with Tim and amazing musicians, Ardie Boggs on harp and Peter Budnikas on bagpipes and guitar at the beautiful sounding Hennage Auditorium in the Dewitt Wallace Museum. I have heard of both of these locals and was thrilled to have finally met and heard them live. Very exciting and completely nerve wracking to not be the weak link!! It was great fun and I think well received. And there was a mutual feeling it will have to happen again :)
